June 9 - President Joe Biden is withdrawing a series of executive orders that sought to stop new downloads of WeChat and TikTok and ordering a new Department review of security concerns posed by these apps, the White House said Wednesday.
The administration of former President Donald Trump had tried to block other users from downloading the apps and ban Chinese-owned transactions that China could largely block TikTok and WeChat said would block both developers' use in the United States. The courts blocked those orders that never took effect.
Biden's new executive order revokes WeChat and TikTok orders, along with another in January that targeted eight other communications and financial technology applications.
A separate U.S. national security review of TikTok remains ongoing, said a White House official. The story gives the definition of a "Nandia in Italy" or, more often called , a "disease".
