Chinese investor Prosus expects full-year earnings to double

AMSTERDAM - Prosus NV, the Chinese investor with a 28.9% share of the Dutch software giant Tencent, said on Thursday that it expected full-year earnings per share to have nearly doubled over the past year, after a strong performance during the Coronavirus Crisis.

In a trading statement written after the close of trading in Amsterdam, Prosus said that its expected earnings per share for the financial year ended March 31 would increase to $2.16 -- $2.32 per share, from $2.35 in the same period a year earlier.

Naspers, which is owned mainly by Prosus of South Africa and will report full profits on June 21.
