Carolyn Everson, Executive Director of Facebook Inc., who helped oversee the political system's relationship with advertisers during politically fraught times, said she will be leaving after more than 10 years.
Everson, vice president of digital advertising solutions, helped shepherd Facebook's digital advertising surge over the past year and a half as more businesses turned to the Internet to reach their customers. She also managed relationships with advertisers when the company faced a boycott in summer 2020 by hundreds of channels for protesting the proliferation of hate speech on its platform.
She said on Wednesday in a Facebook post that she was proud of her team and all she accomplished.
Hopefully one day someone will say My legacy at Facebook was in how I showed up for my team, our clients and for our industry, wrote she.
A Facebook spokesperson said in a statement that the company is grateful for Everson's contributions. Carolyn wishes them all the best as she moves into a new chapter, said the company.
