Facebook Inc expects to reopen all its US offices by October, with plans to offer flexible work-related options for employees, the social media platform said on Wednesday.
The company also said it was on track to reopen most of its US offices at 50% capacity by early September and that it would become open to all levels of the company as an option until June 15.
The office of Facebook will be more flexible for those expected to return ; the company said that at least half the time should be in the office.
The guidance has no impact on rules for contractors content moderators, said a Facebook spokeswoman. The company faced criticism over the safety of bringing some of the moderators and the editors who review sensitive content back to its offices during the pandemic.
The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way businesses work, giving rise to a remote working model that is part work from office and part residential.
As economies emerge from the depths of the pandemic, several companies including Google and Microsoft offered employees freedom to choose their work - locations and remote work preferences.
While certain of Facebook's Latin America offices are already open, the company says it would continue to track its EMEA and APAC offices.
