Wipro to Train Employees on AI for Transition to an AI-First Company

Wipro is making a strategic shift towards becoming an AI-first company by investing in training its employees in AI and GenAI. The company has set a target to train nearly all of its vast workforce, with more than 2,20,000 employees having completed training on AI fundamentals and responsible AI use.

Wipro's Chief Technology Officer, Subha Tatavarti, highlighted the importance of creating an AI-first culture within the company. With over 55,000 AI practitioners working towards infusing AI and GenAI into different industries and technology domains, Wipro is focusing on upskilling its workforce to contribute to advancements in the AI field.

The company has developed a structured training curriculum for employees to learn various aspects of AI, machine learning, and GenAI, catering to individuals at different proficiency levels. This initiative aims to equip associates with the necessary skills to leverage AI, ensuring that all employees receive appropriate education and tools based on their roles.

Wipro is leveraging its talent cloud platform, Topcoder, which connects 1.7 million engineers and developers, to enhance its skilling and upskilling efforts, as well as to assist clients in scaling and accelerating AI projects. Additionally, the company plans to enhance its talent pool through acquisitions, investments, and incubation programs with startups to strengthen its AI portfolio and stay at the forefront of technological advancements.
